I started with the district in August of 2022. I took a major leap of faith and changed my area of teaching out of Elementary Education and took on Middle School Science. I LOVE it. This was the best decision I could have made for myself as an educator. This year, I will also be taking on the Decatur Public Schools Yearbook! I am excited for this new journey!
I have taught in two other districts in my career. I have taught 3rd grade Literacy and Social Studies, and K-3 Special Education. Prior to teaching in public school, I was a preschool teacher for a private preschool in Bentonville.
I am married to my wonderful husband, Christian. He is also a teacher, and teaches percussion and band in the Rogers School District. We have 3 beautiful children. I have two boys, ages 6 & 8, and one girl who is 1. The boys attend Decatur Northside Elementary.
We have 2 doodles, as well as a bearded dragon, a leopard gecko, and a regal jumping spider. We love our pets!
I love to craft and create digital art on canva. Most of what I create on Canva are educational tools. I also love to swim and spend time with my family. I am a big Harry Potter fan, and my classroom reflects that. I love to play video games and read. My favorite place to visit is the beach.
