I graduated Siloam Springs High School in 1991. I graduated from the University of Arkansas with a degree in Agriculture Education in 1995. In 2005 I went back to college and did my student teaching with David Nelson at Gentry High School.

This will be my 17th year here at Decatur High School and my 18th total. I started teaching when Paige went to preschool. I taught at Gentry my first year, and came to Decatur my 2nd year of teaching. I teach Intro into Ag, Survey, Animal Science, Veterinary Science, Ag Mechanics, and Ag Mechals.
I owned an operated a broiler farm, ran beef cattle, and trained horses. I then went to work in customer service for John Brown Fabrics and Graco both in Gravette. Currently help with our family farm Barrett Swine Genetics. We raise duroc show pigs and have a duroc boar on stud.
Married to Brian Barrett. Got married 08/12/94. 29 years this year.
We have two children. Lacy Jo graduated at the University of Arkansas double majoring in Animal Science and Poultry Science. Lacy is 26 years old. She graduated from Decatur High School in 2015. She is married to JC Reno. They live in Desdemona, Texas where he is the manager of the GKB Brangus Show Cattle. They gave us our first grandchild March 11 named Reece Marylou. We all call her Lou because of her spunk and fight. She entered this would at 1.73 pounds. Paige is 22 years old and a Senior at Tarleton State College in Stephensville, Texas. She graduated Decatur High School in 2020. Paige is majoring in Agriculture Leadership, Communication, Industry, and Education degree.
We have 5 dogs all which hunt quail and dove and a bunch of duroc pigs.
Brian and I love to fish. I love white bass, crappie, bluegill and catfish fishing. We also enjoy dove and quail hunting with our dogs. We enjoy traveling to different livestock shows across the nation and exhibiting our livestock.
